This Practice provides the minimum metadata requirements for technical document exchange. This Practice establishes the definitions and interpretations for document metadata.
Metadata definitions and interpretations specific to transmittal letters are defined in PIP DMDDC002. Companies may adopt the Practice for internal use. That is, a company’s document-management system may also use the defined metadata identifiers in documents held in the system.
